Venezuela. A large safety net is organized by the neighbors who make life in the thirty-five buildings belonging to the Carlos Raúl Villanueva communal council of La Florida, due to the security crisis that the area is going through.
They assure that daily criminal acts such as raptures, robberies and kidnappings are registered, a situation that forced them to form the network.
Interconnected alarms, improvement of the lighting of the buildings, security cameras and the unification of the service provider companies are some of the elements included in the project, according to Sonia Sánchez, a member of the communal council.
The cost will be borne by each building and executed with the help of community experts.
On the articulation with the State, Sánchez said that the GNB (National Guard of Venezuela) has attended to their claims and hold meetings once a week, however, they do not have the resources, nor the number of troops to deal with the situation which has influenced the increase in criminal acts in the sector.
