14/08/2012. For parents in Mexico, the school year begins before the first day of school, as they spend heavily on uniforms and school supplies.
For this reason, the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) suggests that consumers go to back-to-school fairs, where parents can buy tools with discounts from 10% to 40%.
For the beginning of this school year (2012-2013), 55 fairs throughout the country offer, in addition to school supplies, workshops, haircuts and free medical consultations.
According to Profeco, these fairs are held throughout the country until August 31, with the aim of bringing to baseboards, public squares and delegation esplanades everything necessary for the return to classes such as: school supplies, clothes, shoes, backpacks, computers and computer accessories, among many other products, with significant discounts, ranging from 10 to 40 percent.
To consult the venues and schedules of the Profeco 2012 Back to School Fairs you can call the Consumer Phone: 5568 8722, in the Federal District and metropolitan area; and to 01800 468 8722, long distance at no cost from the rest of the Republic.
