International. Two new ways to verify the identity of mobile users have been developed by researchers from the Faculty of Informatics of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
With one of them it is possible to sign in the air while holding the mobile phone; while the other allows you to take a photo of your hands with your phone's camera.
Both techniques serve to check if the user is who they say they are and aim to ensure the privacy of people who access a multitude of services from anywhere through smartphones.
The post-doctoral researcher Gonzalo Bailador was the main promoter of the techniques, which have been developed as free software for Android and Iphone mobile devices, in such a way that they can be integrated into any mobile application that needs an identity verification service.
The entire authentication process is carried out inside the mobile, without the need to send biometric information to a server, thus ensuring the privacy of the user's biometric information.
