Dominican Republic. In response to the requirements and changes of the market in terms of security in banking transactions, the company Inteligensa, presented in the Dominican capital two important conferences on EMV Migration and Authentication, held in the Andromeda Hall of the Barceló Santo Domingo Hotel.
The Conferences touched on the topics "EMV Migration" and "Authentication" and had as a general objective to guide the banking sector of the Dominican Republic on the importance, advantages and application of these topics, which are very topical in the field of banking security.
EMV migration is a process that is currently being carried out in various countries of the world, which involves moving from a magnetic stripe system to a system based on microcircuit or microchip. Engineer Carlos Duque, general manager of Inteligensa Colombia and an expert in the area, explained that the purpose of this change is "to guarantee security against fraud and electronic theft committed with magnetic stripe bank cards, highly sensitive to cloning."
For his part, the engineer Ricardo Palermo, corporate manager of Authentication of Inteligensa and lecturer on the subject, referred to the importance of authentication, noting that "it allows to guarantee the integrity of the data and the trust in the transactions, avoiding that the identity of the client is violated. This is fundamentally a security issue, which is a priority for both customers and banking institutions."
