Mexico. Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and a leader in energy efficiency, announced the appointment of Gerardo Minchaca, who had been serving as the organization's Vice President of Solutions and Services, as the new Vice President of Schneider Electric's Buildings Business Unit for Mexico.
The goal in this new role for Minchaca will be to help companies maximize the performance and safety of their buildings in a sustainable way through smart and innovative solutions of business scope.

Our energy management solutions, combined with proper building design and safety infrastructure, actually improve building operation and reduce energy consumption by up to 50 kWh/m2 per year. These savings can be achieved today, and it is my job to raise awareness in the Mexican market about its benefits which not only impact the economic field but also the ecological and social aspect," said Gerardo Minchaca during his appointment.
With more than 22 years of experience within the organization and extensive experience in the energy market, the engineer Minchaca comes to promote the concept of Green Buildings and Integral Security to the Mexican market. Under the Green Buildings concept, Minchaca will be responsible for boosting Schneider Electric's capabilities and comprehensive portfolio of products, solutions and services primarily, but not exclusively to, the hospitality, health sciences, offices, hospitals, retail and education segments.
Through this offer, Minchaca will seek to equip organizations with energy efficiency technologies and services that allow them to reduce their energy consumption by up to 30%. Such technologies and services include secure and reliable power supply systems, energy efficiency audits and assessments, remote energy monitoring, energy consumption measurement, tracking and analysis systems, renewable energy, optimized control of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, lighting and blinds, and integrated voice/data/imaging networks.
On the other hand, under the concept of Integral Security, he will be responsible for increasing the company's market share in the security industry. In this area, this company occupies a privileged position with the already renowned offer of video surveillance products and solutions Pelco by Schneider Electric, to which are added the capabilities of access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, fire alarm, visit management, intercoms, biometrics and emergency lighting, elevator control, compliance with regulations, asset management, data exchange, building management, energy management, electrical distribution and lighting control.
Additionally, Minchaca, within the same structure of Buildings, will act as in charge of the offer of Pelco by Schneider Electric in the country. In this role, he will serve as the point of contact between the local market and the main plant where Pelco by Schneider Electric equipment is manufactured in Clovis California.
Prior to his recent appointment, Minchaca served for four years as Vice President of Solutions and Services, before four more years as Director of Services and 13 as Director of Sales of Zona Frontera.
