Recently Nessus 5 was released with many improvements in filtering both in policy creation and report analysis, it also includes improvements in the test engine making it faster and lighter in terms of resources. Of all these new capabilities, my favorite is the filtering capability in plugin creation and analysis. For a long time I kept a copy of a list of several plugin ID numbers that detected the most common exploits in Metasploit for use with nessuscmd in my projects. Now with the new filtering capability I can choose those plugins that cover security holes that contain exploits in the Frameworks such as Core Impact and CANVAS, both remote and local holes. In this article I will cover how to create a policy that covers all the plugins that cover Metasploit.Full content in original DarkOperator and HotFixed font
