"We have started the program in other schools in the metropolitan area, last year we installed about 50 and this year we have about 100. This tells us about a large number of schools where there is some phenomenon of insecurity, but the cameras will help us combat it," said the Secretary of Education of Jalisco, Antonio Gloria Morales.
In the tasks of surveillance, both the teaching staff of each school and the Municipal Police will be involved. According to the president of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, the option of integrating the Secretariat of Public Security of the State, which monitors certain streets of the metropolis with equipment to be installed, is even being studied.
The Secretary of Education also expects that next year the number of teams in schools will grow, although the exact figure will be defined once the budget of the unit is known.
