Harkins will be in charge of the intrusion company, video and access systems divisions, which serve customers in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. HSG serves security distributors and integrators that serve end-residential users as well as commercial and government users.
Harkins joined Honeywell in 1995. For the past three years he has overseen the company's video and access control divisions, where he was instrumental in the introduction of MAXPRO Honeywell VMS (video management system) technology, NetAXS-123 scalable access control system, and the development of Honeywell Kit (HSDK) software designed to simplify system integration.
Harkins will also handle the intrusion portfolio of Honeywell, which is the largest security industry and includes ADEMCO, AlarmNet, Total Connect and First Alert Professional.
"We have seen dramatic changes in security technology in recent years that have changed the way the industry acts. I look forward to helping our company continue this legacy and offer the tools and resources our customers need to help propel this industry forward," Harkin said.
