International. The company ReboundTAG, based in the United Kingdom, has created a new solution using RFID technology aimed at preventing the theft of luggage or its loss in airlines.
Under the name of Microchip Bag Tag, the RFID tag allows luggage to be identified quickly and easily by airlines and airport staff. Each tag is embedded with two microchips, one containing the Identity of ReboundTAG and another with 128 bits of space for airlines and airports to use with their own RFID systems.
The system also has a printed barcode that can be scanned by airlines that do not have RFID, although the use of RFID technology is increasingly being imposed on airports and airlines, which would allow, if lost luggage is found, that through the ReboundTAG website, an SMS is automatically sent to the person who has lost their luggage.
