28/11/11. Army secures radio communication equipment in Cuitláhuac
Personnel from the Sixth Military Region secured radio communication equipment from organized crime after an operation carried out in the municipality of Cuitláhuac.
The securing of the radio communication equipment was carried out on Tuesday in the municipality located in the central area of the entity.
According to the information provided, military personnel secured the following material: 51 radios with antenna and battery; 1 base/vehicle radio with microphone and antenna; 1 power supply; 57 chargers for radio equipment and batteries; and 59 batteries for radio equipment.
The Command of the Sixth Military Region and the Twenty-sixth Military Zone reported that the seizure was carried out within the framework of the application of the "Directive for the comprehensive fight against drug trafficking 2007-2012" and in the operation "Veracruz Seguro".
It should be remembered that the Ministry of National Defense discovered a training camp and secured weapons in that same municipality last March.
In addition, it is a second blow to organized crime in the field of radiocommunications, since the Secretariat of the Navy-Navy of Mexico dismantled last September, a network that was installed in the following places: Veracruz, Xalapa, Poza Rica, Orizaba, Córdoba, Cofre de Perote, Pánuco, Tepetzintla, Naranjos and Tantoyuca.
This telecommunications network consisted of high-frequency repeaters, antennas, power amplifiers, power supplies, batteries, portable receivers, solar cells and wiring, which allowed organized crime to have an efficient and secure digital communications network.
