01/09/2011. At least 15% of the nightly entertainment centers affiliated with the Association of Bars and Clubs of the state installed security cameras in their businesses and many others analyze another additional measure to take care of their customers.
Although the businessmen confirmed that they are committed to security, sales in these businesses fell between 12 and 15% from the inter-institutional operations carried out by the local authorities to verify the conditions in which they operate.
The president of the Association of Bars and Clubs of the state, Rogelio Garfias Torres, stressed that the 275 businesses affiliated to this organization and its more than 400 employees have an unavoidable commitment to the safety of their customers.
IN FAVOUR OF SECURITY
Rogelio Garfias Torres said that in the entity there are more than 3,800 licenses with the turn of restaurants, breweries, bars, clubs and other establishments that not only comply with the aspects of legality, but also constantly worry about being safe places for the people who frequent them and avoid risk situations.
Of the total number of members of the Association of Bars and Clubs of Querétaro, approximately 15% have video cameras and security systems as a way to protect customers.
Garfias Torres acknowledged that the verification operations to these places are continuous and the businessmen are aware of the aspects they must cover in terms of health, civil protection and legality, so there is a high level of compliance in the entity.
COMPLY WITH THE LAW
"In Querétaro we do prevent. We are above the civil protection measures because we always comply more, we have drills that are carried out constantly and we are above the norm and we are calm, "said the leader of Bars and Discos.
Although there is no law that forces entrepreneurs to install security video cameras inside and outside these nightly entertainment centers, he pointed out that more and more people are opting for these systems as a way to protect their customers and their own investments.
SALES FALL
Given the reviews initiated by the corresponding authorities in the entertainment centers, he emphasized that Queretanos businessmen willingly accept the preventive operations that are carried out inter-institutionally, although they already mean a decrease in sales due to the environment that is generated with customers.
"Sales have fallen between 12 and 15%, in that percentage they are decreasing, but how good that customers are every day with greater security, that they are aware that they go to a place that is verified by all instances," said Garfias Torres.
In addition, the President of the Association of Bars and Discos trusted that once the operations are concluded and the high compliance of the entrepreneurs is guaranteed, the commercial activity in the nightclubs will return to normal, always with programs aimed at taking care of customers and moderating the sale of alcohol.
