Strategic relationship between Samsung Techwin and GVI Security came to an end

Internationalalt. Samsung Techwin announced that as of January 1, 2011, it will end its relationship with GVI Security as its leading distributor of electronic security products for the Americas, which lasted in the market for 11 years.

"Samsung appreciates GVI's contribution to their businesses over the years and wishes them success in their future business ventures," said Pedro Duarte, Samsung Techwin's vice president for Latin America.

Steve Walin, CEO of GVI Security said: "Unfortunately we found that, despite our efforts, the relationship introduced many conflicts and did not work effectively for either customers or our companies. Therefore, after a mutual decision, we terminated the agreement."

This puts an end to the continuous rumors that had circulated in the industry in recent months, and kicks off a new business strategy for Samsung Techwin, in which it will now seek to become a direct contributing partner to the market of distributors and system integrators.

Techwin explained that now its base of integrators and distributors will be served directly through Latin America operations based in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, and local offices in Miami, Mexico City, Bogota (Colombia), Lima (Peru), Santiago (Chile) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).

While Walin said that by the beginning of next year they will announce some announcements about the new products they will offer within their own GVI line and that their customers will continue to be served directly by the brand.
