Europe. By 2012 the penetration of mobile broadband will increase by 50% and could even replace fixed broadband as a form of Internet access. According to data presented by the consulting firm Arthur D. Little and Exane BNP Paribas, it is concluded that mobile broadband will become the main driver of revenue growth along the entire value chain: in accessibility, in equipment or in Internet services. Even so, mobile broadband will remain as a complementary access service in most countries, although in some such as Portugal, Austria or Sweden, it can pose a threat to fixed access. Finally, the report places the average price that customers will have to pay for these services at 20 euros per month, which are added to the 22 euros on average that they allocate per month to mobile voice services.
