Mexico. The Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District will install 1,184 security cameras in primary, secondary and upper secondary education institutions over three years. The installation of these cameras is contemplated within the Bicentennial Plan prepared by the District government on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the capital, which seeks to recover public spaces and security in schools that are in dangerous areas, where violent actions that affect students have been occurring.
The 1184 chambers will be distributed as follows: 750 for primary schools, 314 in secondary schools and 120 in middle and high schools. However, the Ministry of Security contemplates the possibility that a single camera has scope to obtain images of two or three schools that are together, face to face or on the same street. This plan to monitor the schools of the capital is framed in the placement of eight thousand teams throughout the DF.
