Hanwha Powers Its Multi-Directional Cameras with Artificial Intelligence

Hanwha IA

InternationalHanwha unveiled its new four -and five- channel cameras, which now include an AI engine that allows access to advanced analytics with a 360° view.

The PNM-C34404RQPZ, PNM-C16083RQZ, and PNM-C32083RQZ multi-directional camera models classify and detect people, vehicles (including the type of vehicle) and license plates.

They also feature loitering and line crossing detection using Artificial Intelligence, Auto Prefer Shutter control, WiseStream III intelligent compression technology, and WiseNRII noise reduction.

Benefits of AI
Artificial Intelligence cameras help minimize false alarms by ignoring video noise, leaf movement, tree leaves, clouds, and animals. This higher level of video analytics performance with AI and deep learning means that control room operators and security personnel can focus on responding to real incidents and emergencies.

Object classification also allows for more efficient forensic search, meaning security administrators can quickly find images of relevant events, thereby streamlining the investigation. Virtual areas can be configured with object detection using Artificial Intelligence, so that if a person is identified loitering in a specific area, an alert is sent to the operator to take appropriate action.

Image Quality
The BestShot feature automatically chooses the best images of an object or event to send to a server, minimizing storage and bandwidth requirements. In turn, Wise Stream III compression technology applies low compression rates to objects and people detected in the images and high compression to the remaining field of view. This improves bandwidth efficiency without compromising the quality of the video streams that operators watch.

In addition, solutions such as WiseNR II noise reduction reduce blur in noisy and low-light environments. This solution is complemented by Prefer Shutter technology, which uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically adjust shutter speed and further reduce motion blur.

Operational Efficiency
Multi-directional cameras require less cabling and infrastructure, as well as less space in the server room, as the analyses are performed on the device and only metadata is transmitted. In addition, they have a compact and elegant semi-modular design, for easy installation and maintenance, reinforced durability, as well as cybersecurity features of the highest level to offer operators additional security measures.
