Latin America. The second edition of the Top 100 Latin American Integrators Report 2019-2020 now includes an update with the results for 2020 of the Top 100 Integrators Ranking of the magazine VENTAS DE SEGURIDAD, as well as the perspectives of organizations such as the Un Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the economies of the different countries of Latin America, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2020 edition of the Top 100 Latin American Integrators covers 30 companies from Mexico, 15 from Central America, 35 from the Andean Region, and 20 more from the Southern Cone.
The consequences of the pandemic have led to a global recession, according to these agencies, which estimate a fall in Latin American GDP of -9.1% in 2020, although for 2021 a partial recovery is expected. For the specific case of the Electronic Security industry, the most optimistic scenario of recovery of this business to pre-covid levels would arrive for the second quarter of 2021, and this only in case the coronavirus is controlled at the end of 2020.
In addition to the forecasts, this addendum has information as of October 2020 on imports and trade of equipment of the Electronic Security industry for each of the Latin American countries, as well as macroeconomic information on how the pandemic has affected aspects such as employment and trade in those countries.
