International. Genetec announced that Stratocast, its cloud-based video surveillance (VSaaS) service, powered by the Microsoft Zure computing platform, is now compatible with new camera models from Bosch, Mobotix and Euklis.
Stratocast is designed to meet the needs of organizations that require a reliable and cost-effective video surveillance solution without the expense and complexities typically associated with installing and managing local surveillance systems. It offers a cloud solution for enterprise and small business customers who want to easily deploy video surveillance in smaller, remote locations. Stratocast also supports hybrid cloud deployments for users who want to keep some storage in place and infrastructure hardware while making the gradual transition to the cloud.
Thanks to Stratocast's open architecture, the portfolio of compatible devices is also continuously expanding and will now support cameras from Bosch, Euklis and Mobotix, in addition to existing support for hundreds of Axis and Vivotek models.
"A driving force behind Stratocast is delivering a cloud video management system based on an open architecture without the need for a local bridge or recorders. At Genetec, we want to offer users a non-proprietary cloud solution so they have the flexibility to integrate a variety of cameras to meet their specific needs," said Oktay Yildiz, Product Line Manager – Stratocast, Genetec. "With Stratocast, users can transition to a cloud-based infrastructure while potentially leveraging their existing investment in camera hardware or choosing to install new cameras from a variety of compatible brands."
"The growing interest in cloud video surveillance is a key factor in integrating partners into the Stratocast platform," said Georges Tannous, Director of Global Alliances at Genetec. "We are excited about partner engagement and these new integrations from Bosch, Euklis and Mobotix and look forward to adding more brands and models as they become available."
