Belden
The new cables with tinned copper conductors with greater protection against moisture are now part of the NewGen series of cables, very popular in the security industry for access control applications, CCTV, alarms, among others.
These cables are certified as flame retardants, either "riser" (UL1666 or FT4) or "plenum" (NFPA262, formerly called UL910, or FT6), and the premium version is also available with an anti-water tape or "waterblock tape", which absorbs and retains any moisture that passes through the cable cover.
Applies to both single-pair and triple-conductor cables for control, and two pairs. This insulating material allows the passage of signal and also helps the cable to be better protected against weathering, because unlike copper, tinned copper does not corrode when exposed to air, offering greater durability.
To identify them according to their code, it should only be observed that they include the letter "H" at the end, for example: usual cables such as 5302FE or 5502UE are identified as tinned copper with the codes 5302FH or 5502UH. The premium version also adds a "1" at the end.
