Latin America. eSIM-enabled devices should grow from 224 million in 2018 to 700 million in 2022, according to a survey by ABI Research. To drive that growth, IDEMIA, a global leader in Augmented Identity, removes obstacles faced by mobile operators around the world by announcing a strategic partnership with Microsoft to bring the convenience of eSIM technology to corporate users of Windows 10 PCs.
With the agreement, enterprise IT teams will be able to provision, deploy and manage cellular connectivity through mobile device management providers (such as MDM), such as Microsoft Intune. The eSIM offers users an optimized mobile connectivity management experience.
The IDEMIA eSIM Orchestration Hub management platform will be responsible for integration with mobile operator networks to support eSIM easily and quickly. The platform manages all the activation and provisioning of eSIM workflows on the operator's network and, by connecting with existing APIs, allows them to offer eSIM support without making significant updates to billing and operation systems (B/OSS).
The eSIM Orchestration Hub is part of IDEMIA's Connected Device Platform (CDP), a cloud-hosted platform for eSIM device management. The CDP includes a Subscription Manager (SM-DP+) and an Enablement Server, which provide a complete end-to-end solution for eSIM management.
