International. HID Global announced that its Mobile Access solution is one of the first industry offerings to receive ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 27001, a widely known and accepted international security standard, functions as a framework for information security management systems that specifies recommended security practices, establishes controls for risk management, and protects information.
"Being the first to achieve ISO 27001 certification for the use of mobile devices to open doors represents a step forward towards the widespread adoption of HID Mobile Access," said Hilding Arrehed, Vice President of Cloud Services, Physical Access Control Solutions, HID Global. "This prestigious certification is proof of HID's continued commitment to achieving high standards in information security for our cloud services."
HID has already been leading the industry in the development of technologies and implementations for mobile access, thanks to Seos® credential technology. With ISO certification, HID is also at the forefront of regulatory compliance.
Users can rely on HID Mobile Access to securely enter through doors and gates, and to access business and other resources with their smartphone, tablet, garment or electronic accessory or other type of mobile device. In addition, the solution is a key piece for organizations looking to integrate access control to smart building technologies and services to create more comfortable and intuitive experiences for their users.
The ISO 27001 certification process is carried out by independent external auditors. Achieving accredited certification involves validation by independent experts that HID maintains the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer data, in accordance with industry-leading international security practices. ISO 27001 is supported by its code of practice for information security management, ISO/IEC 27002:2013.
