Colombia. The latest hybrid fire suppression technology has arrived in Colombia and for the first time in all of South America. The renewable energy company Celsia was the headquarters for this facility, which took a month to complete and operates from this week.
These types of technologies use a combination of nitrogen and a minimum amount of water to generate a suspended haze in order to reduce the percentage of oxygen and cool the protected space, avoiding damage to servers and other electronic systems. The loss of these tools is a frequent concern among owners and operators of these facilities, so the electronics industries need a safe, cost-effective and, above all, ecological solution.
The Victaulic Vortex 1500 has a mechanism that fuses gaseous systems and inert gas, with water mist systems thus reducing the amount of oxygen to prevent combustion and up to 97% the use of water, which allows the servers not to be damaged, thus reducing the need to replace them and stop operations. Due to the minimum amount of water used by this system (less than 1 liter per minute) its maintenance is simple and economical, highly friendly to the environment, is non-toxic and does not require the protected area to be hermetically sealed.
What characterizes this technology of other fire systems?
According to Julio Herrera, Vitaulic's fire protection specialist and installation advisor, hybrid fire suppression systems are effective in extinguishing everything from small fires to large fires. This technology effectively protects electronics industries and data centers that today need a secure and cost-effective solution. What differentiates the Technology of Victaulic Vortex from other systems is that it is a 100 percent green technology, does not use any toxic chemicals and has been identified by the US Environmental Protection Agency as having a global warming potential of zero.
