International. Idemia announced the framework of one million online transactions made through the Motion Code card with The French bank Société Générale, one of the first in the world to use the technology, which integrates a dynamic security code developed by Idemia (formerly known as OT-Morpho).
The solution, which replaces the three digits of the cryptogram printed on the back of the card with a small digital display, displays a new code every hour. In this way, any stolen data quickly becomes unusable on the Internet, preventing fraudsters from reusing the information, especially on e-commerce sites.
After successful trials among more than 500 people in 2016, Société Générale went on to offer the Motion Code for all its French customers in early 2017. In less than 10 months, the results illustrate the success of the commercial launch: one million online transactions made with the dynamic security code card and more than 200 thousand cards issued.
