International. The UK Government's Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy awarded Hanwha Techwin Europe the Cyber Essentials Certificate. This recognition, which is backed by the industry, is designed to help companies protect themselves against common cyberattacks.
The certificate validates that the company has implemented the necessary procedures to minimize the threat of an attack on the IT infrastructure at the organization's headquarters, located in Chertsey, Surrey, as well as on laptops used by employees anywhere else in the world.
"We regularly evaluate and update our it security to eliminate the risk of any disruption to our business and that of our partners," said Bob (H.Y.) Hwang, Managing Director of Hanwha Techwin Europe. "Our cybersecurity program is a core element of our 'we move with confidence' philosophy and reflects the proactive attitude we take to protect sensitive data."
Bob (H.Y.) Hwang added that beyond the scope of the Cyber Essentials program, "we are always vigilant to ensure that our Wisenet cameras, recording devices and software you have placed your trust in, protect your property, people and assets, and have what it takes to minimize the threat of cyberattacks."
"We have a testing and monitoring program designed to identify new threats that compromise the integrity of our solutions. We are open and honest with our customers when we identify new cybersecurity threats, moving quickly to develop more advanced versions of our firmware to combat them."
It is important to note that as revealed last August by the cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab. In Latin America, the three countries with the highest number of attacks are Brazil (53%), Mexico (17%) and Colombia (9%).
The threats that occur most frequently in this region are those related to financial fraud, ransomware and attacks on mobile devices, on the latter more than 930,000 cases have been reported so far this year.
