Cellebrite is the holder of the Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED) technology patent, which allows the decoding and judicial extraction of digital content from mobile devices (cell phones, tablets or GPS) stored on the device or in a private cloud of suspects or victims of crimes by means of hardware and software. The system is used in more than 115 countries by law enforcement agencies, intelligence departments, lawyers and law enforcement agents, including the Brazilian Federal Police, the FBI and Interpol.
UFED technology allows experts and researchers to extract and analyze all types of digital content on smartphones, tablets or GPS devices of suspects or victims. Strategic information is obtained even when such data is locked by password or cryptography or even when the user has deleted it from memory. The system has software resources that allow the production of forensic evidence with levels of evidence and formality compatible with the legislation of practically all countries, including Brazil, helping criminal experts to elucidate crimes.
Frederico Bonincontro was director of Cellebrite's forensic division for Latin America for three years before taking over operations. He has 16 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industry; he worked as a sales manager in companies such as Nortel, Motorola and ZTE, serving government customers and mobile operators. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brasilia and obtained a Master's Degree in Finance from the Institute of Advanced Studies – Ibmec.
