International. Hanwha Techwin (manufacturer of video surveillance solutions of the Samsung brand) has launched in collaboration with Oxehealth, (developer of surveillance software for the health sector) a solution that allows to control the vital signs through the image captured by a camera (without physical contact): an innovative camera to obtain safer environments in health centers, police units and penitentiary centres.
"The technology collaboration we have established with Oxehealth is a perfect example of Hanwha Techwin's commitment to providing innovative video surveillance solutions that meet the real needs of the market," said Cheol Kyo Kim, President and CEO of Hanwha Techwin Co. Limited. "The combination of our open platform cameras, capable of capturing high-definition images with excellent quality, with Oxehealth's software offers users a solution that gives them peace of mind and greater operational efficiency."
Samsung-branded cameras work seamlessly with Oxehealth's patient vital signs monitoring software, allowing police, psychiatric health institutions and correctional facilities to remotely measure the movements, heart and respiratory rate of inmates and patients.
Police in the UK and some psychiatric health organisations have successfully tested this solution so that as the international community is increasingly aware of the need for immediate intervention measures to reduce the number of deaths of people in custody, Hanwha Techwin and Oxehealth will jointly promote a solution that quickly alerts supervisory staff when sudden and drastic changes occur in the physiology of inmates.
Commenting on the international collaboration, which was formalized on April 5, 2016, Jonathan Chevallier, CEO of Oxehealth said: "We are delighted to collaborate with Hanwha Techwin because they have an impressive track record in manufacturing robust, high-performance video surveillance solutions for critical, high-security applications. And they are fantastic partners for Oxehealth's partner network. We can't wait to start working with the Hanwha Techwin team to promote this market-leading camera, based on a vital signs control solution, to offer safe environments as well as, in the future, explore the opportunities of this technology in other sectors."
