Schneider Electric received the DatacenterDynamics Leaders EMEA Award in the Modular Implementation category for the state-of-the-art and customized prefabricated data center that has been installed in barcelona's famous Sagrada Familia basilica. The award was presented at a ceremony held in London.
Schneider Electric's integrated prefabricated data center solution enables operators to manage church security and effectively control the millions of visitors who come to the temple each year. The Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the most visited tourist attraction in Barcelona.
Schneider Electric designed and built a fully customized prefabricated data center, which can be easily moved if needed. The installation requires a minimal presence on site, avoiding any disruption to tourists or construction sites.
The module was delivered with racks, UPS, power distribution, cooling and monitoring, pre-installed and ready for deployment. The external structure of the module was designed to be durable and secure, with electrical and mechanical connections that can be easily disconnected in case the data center module or interior infrastructure components need to be moved.
