Latin America. Genetec, a leading provider of unified IP network security solutions, announced new features and reduced pricing plans for Stratocast, its Video Surveillance-as-a-Service service, which is based on Microsoft Azure's Cloud Computing Platform and uses its technology.
Stratocast is designed to meet the needs of businesses and institutions that require a reliable and cost-effective video surveillance solution without the expenses typically associated with installing and managing video surveillance systems physically installed on sites.
New features and pricing plans will be available by the end of April 2014, including support for multichannel video encoders, an information panel for monitoring system health and status, options for brand customizations of service marketers, and geo-redundant storage.
In the wake of the price reduction of Microsoft Azure storage costs, Genetec is extending this savings to its customers by lowering the prices of Stratocast's™ annual subscriptions by up to 20%.
"Since the Stratocast was launched on the market in mid-2013, the global use of cloud-based services has grown, both in volume and demand, enabling cloud infrastructure providers such as Microsoft Azure to reduce cloud-based storage costs. as it has grown the volume of its systems and efficiency," said Christian Morin Group Director of Genetec's Stratocast Products. "We are pleased to pass on this savings to our Stratocast customers, and invite new customers to take advantage of the new features, and an even more affordable and economical cloud-based VMS," said Morin.
New Features Details
Support for Axis' multi-channel video encoders will allow customers to easily migrate from their analog system to Stratocast™, while preserving their existing investment of analog cameras that can still provide services. For a complete list of supported devices, please visit http://www.stratocast.com/supported-devices.
A new information panel for monitoring the health and condition of the system will provide warnings of system events and information about the affected customer and cameras, thus allowing the support and service centers of the VSaaS Stratocast™ marketers to monitor and facilitate troubleshooting quickly, and provide remote assistance.
Stratocast™ Geo-redundancy provides an advanced failover mechanism in the unlikely event of a primary data center site failure. This option provides a higher level of resiliency and redundancy by transparently replicating recordings to a secondary data center located hundreds or thousands of ilometers from the user's primary site, while remaining within the same region.
In-app branding allows Stratocast™ marketers to add their logo within the Stratocast Customer, as well as customize their Stratocast™™ homepage to increase their company's visibility to end users.
