Anixter Incorporates 3D Technology into Data Center Design

altLatin America. Anixter presents a new service that will change the way a data center is planned and offered: a 3D model with all the views, list of materials necessary and technical documentation to carry out the project.

Already four years ago, Anixter began to get fully into the Data Center (DC) market. As part of the initiative, different programs and tools were developed that ensured the distributor's leadership in this industry. And today, it once again surprises its customers and end users with more value-added service.

Under the character of the newest, Gonzalo Reinoso, Regional Power & Cooling Solution Marketing Manager – CALA; Federico Lang, Regional Physical Support Solution Marketing Manager - CALA, and José Leyva, Data Center Business Developer, anixter, met to present the software capable of modeling a 3D data center. A service that is already available and that brings multiple benefits, both for those who offer a project, and for those who decide to realize it.

According to José Leyva, this tool was developed based on three main objectives:
1. Educational: will allow all members of the business (distributor, integrator, end user and even manufacturer) to understand that a data center is composed of different units, all interrelated with each other, and not independent components. It offers a clear view of the systemic nature that any DC project should have.

2. Professionalism: aligned with the service policy of its creator, Anixter, this new tool is available for both the largest projects and the smallest, of only, for example, a cabinet. Regardless of the size of the business, each customer will be able to obtain their documented model blueprint of the DC in question.

3. Differentiation: without a doubt it is a tool that continues to position Anixter in a place of differentiation within the market, since it is the only leading distributor that offers its customers and end users a service of this type.

"This new value-added service is now available to all our Anixter customers in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA)," says Gonzalo.  The internal team at all locations is already trained to provide this new type of support."
For his part, Federico adds that "the deliverable that the client obtains is the model of his project. The idea is that our partners can generate an incremental business in the DC area."

What does this new service include?
In addition to a complete 3D vision modeling of the entire data center and its elements, it is part of this new service to deliver a list of the materials that are included in the project and all the documentation that technically describes the model.

"From now on, we can quickly create a complete project of the data center and all its subsystems. This significantly increases the chances of success of the project", concludes Federico.
