Mexico. The Secretary of Communications and Transportation, Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, announced the implementation on all federal highways in the country of a plan to strengthen security with the implementation of technology and video surveillance.
"With geolocation devices (GPS) and video surveillance we will be able to increase the levels of safety on roads," said the official, who explained that intelligent equipment will be installed on the country's roads that are within the 57 demarcations with the most insecurity problems.
The objective is to implement the necessary protection measures and increase safety in urban areas of the country's roads and highways, as well as on routes, said the head of Communications and Transport.
In the framework of the state visit made by the President of China, Xi Jinping, the official explained that the objective is to protect the units of the motor transport, as well as the users of the federal highways and contribute to the reduction of crimes.
