Uruguay. The Social Security Bank (BPS) in conjunction with the Ministry of the Interior will install a system of security cameras in the Cordón neighborhood where several dependencies of the social security agency are located.
The president of the BPS, Ernesto Murro, said that in mid-June "work will begin on the neighborhood monitoring center that will be installed in the BPS headquarters, connected to the national monitoring center of the Ministry of the Interior." This will involve the installation of about 30 surveillance video cameras in the area.
He added that the project is a "collaboration" between public and private companies in the area, since it involves an investment of 350 thousand dollars.
"That makes us worry not only about the safety of BPS users, but also about other centers, public bodies, private companies and student centers, where it is necessary, as in London for example, to have video surveillance systems that help improve security conditions," Murro said.
