Colombia. The authorities began the installation of 160 surveillance cameras in different sectors of Cali, with which it is intended to reduce the insecurity rates in these sectors of the city.
The cameras began to be installed by officials of the Mayor's Office and the Police in Comuna 6, which corresponds to six of these devices.
As explained by the Ministry of Government, for these cameras $ 6,750 million were invested, which were given by the Ministry of the Interior after a management of the Mayor's Office of Cali, carried out at the end of last year.
According to this office, the cameras are Full HD technology, "with 360 degrees of travel and have a sharpness with a range of up to 200 meters away."
The Secretary of Government, Carlos José Holguín, said that "according to the schedule of the Police, in the month of August the 160 cameras would already be installed in the different communes of the city, in the places that the community has identified as critical for situations of insecurity."
