Colombia. Medellín will have new technological tools to reinforce its security plan, since before the end of the first semester, it will put into operation 350 surveillance cameras, the city, with 730 units, will be in Colombia, one of the cities that has more mechanisms of this type in the streets.
On the other hand, the Urban Security Company (ESU) plans to deliver 50 intelligent police patrols, of a batch of 100 that will be completed on May 26, as confirmed by the manager of the entity, Ricardo Salgado.
It also announced for May the entry into operation of 10 mobile CAI, equipped with cameras connected to the 123 emergency line.
"The mobile CAI integrate the attention to the citizen, and allow to have technological controls that will improve the security conditions in the places where they are installed," Salgado explained.
In principle, Mayor Aníbal Gaviria announced for March the entry into operation of the mobile CAI and the completion of the first quarter as a deadline for the installation of the 350 high-tech cameras.
The manager of the ESU explained that the import procedures of the equipment have forced to delay a few weeks what was foreseen in the schedule. He highlighted the benefits of surveillance, with high-definition cameras, which record and store images for up to five years and has great approach power.
