Peru. Lima will install 100 video surveillance cameras near schools in the Cercado, in order to reduce crime and insecurity rates.
Thus, about 20 serenazgo troops, a motorized unit and a mobile unit will constantly move through the Jirón Áncash, an area of greater concentration of educational institutions of the Cercado.
"We now have greater safety conditions for children. There are various risks and threats for them, for example being induced by others not to enter schools, or suffering physical, psychological or sexual abuse," warned the mayor of Lima, Susana Villarán in the framework of the campaign "Safe schools, safe girls and boys" that she presented at the María Parado de Bellido school.
Teachers from cercado educational institutions and neighborhood developers will also receive training regarding the risks that students are exposed to such as robberies, incitement to leave classes, ganging, the sale of drugs near schools, the sale of alcohol and unhealthy food.
