Colombia. With 80 security cameras, Santa Marta aspires from 2013 to strengthen the response capacity in terms of crime, coexistence, mobility and road emergencies. This will be complemented by a central or integrated system of care.
The good news for this Colombian city was delivered by Mayor Carlos Caicedo during the launch of the Green Heart campaign, promoted by the National Police, whose stage was the minor coliseum.
According to the local president, this task also includes the improvement and use of line 123 or emergency calls of the District. "In the strategy to continue strengthening our tools seeking to provide security to the Samarians, we structured a project before the Ministry of the Interior for 3 billion pesos (US$1.6 million) that translate into more than 80 cameras and the strengthening of the 123 system," Caicedo noted.
He said that also one of the plans he has for the coming year is to establish in one place the National Police, the Firefighters, the Navy, the Army, the C.T.I and the Civil Defense; as well as relief agencies such as the E.S.E, the Ministry of Health and Transit, among other institutions.
This is to address in an immediate and timely manner the problems in terms of security, coexistence, mobility and emergencies.
