13/08/2012. The number of families affected increased to 170, mostly in the Costa Chica region of Guerrero, due to the passage of tropical depression "Ernesto", said the Undersecretary of Civil Protection of the entity, Constantino Gonzalez Vargas.
In an interview, he stated that the regions of the Costa Grande and Chica were the most affected, where 280 civil protection elements work to counteract the effects of the phenomenon, as well as elements of the Army and the Navy.
He said that in Chilpancingo they evicted five families due to the possible collapse of a hillside, and the overflow of the Tila River affected at least six villages, in the municipality of Marquelia.
The balance until today is a total of 170 families affected by rains on the Costa Chica, Costa Grande and in municipalities of Iliatenco, Chilpancingo and Acapulco.
He added that they are prepared to face the meteorological phenomena with the coordination of the three orders of government.
"Ernesto, it brought us rain and we are in the middle of the hurricane season that ends in November."
However, he stated that the rain gauges of the National Water Commission (Conagua) recorded more water than when Hurricane Carlota, with the difference that at that time an emergency was declared in three regions and with Ernesto in 81 municipalities.
"We ask the civil protection of the federal government to corroborate the emergency situation that the governor signed on Friday and the working days are running. It will be from Monday and Wednesday when we have an answer."
He specified that they are conducting a census in 15 municipalities where damage was caused.
