The site of the most important database provider for web pages on the market was the victim of a cyber-attack. In this way, hackers introduced a bypass to each visitor redirecting them to sites infected with malware.
The MySQL service is a SQL database manager used in most online sites and applications. The seriousness of this fact is such that if you entered mysql.com at the time the adulterated script was executed, you were directed to one of the infected sites that looked for any security breach in your computer and infected it with malware.
We are also talking about a service that should be protected with high security systems and perfect any method to avoid this type of database breaches. Remember that per month 12 million people download this platform. So it is estimated that at least 120 thousand users were threatened by this "xploit".
At the moment, Oracle – administrator of the MySQL project – has not made any statement regarding the issue.
