Most of those affected by this drop in service were residents in the western part of the British capital. Vodafone, which currently has more than 19 million users in the United Kingdom, acknowledged that it suffered a cut in the service in the early hours of Sunday to Monday because of the damage suffered in some of its facilities. In a statement, the company insisted it had been working to restore service quickly and return to normal as soon as possible. Likewise, Vodafone said that this cut in the service had not had any impact on the security of customers' private information.
The operator said that it is the first time that a situation of these characteristics has happened in the United Kingdom, adding that the police are already investigating the issue. In this regard, several British media said that Vodafone is now reviewing the security of all its facilities in collaboration with the English police to prevent repeated incidents of this magnitude.
