The flaw, which could cause an accident or allow an attacker to take control of an affected system, is being actively exploited against Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat, according to Adobe. The company is not aware that it is being exploited in Flash.
The vulnerability exists in Windows applications, Mac OS X and Unix-based operating systems.
Adobe is developing a fix for the vulnerability and expects to provide an update for Flash on November 9 and for Reader and Adobe Acrobat during the week of November 15.
