International. Axis, Bosch and Sony have teamed up to set standards in the interfaces of video products for streaming networks. This will increase the flexibility of network video equipment for integrators and users. Interoperability between products from different vendors will simplify installation regardless of brand. The three firms will create an open forum to develop the standard, hitherto non-existent in the industry. The new standard will include interfaces for specifications, such as video broadcasting, device discovery, intelligence metadata, among others. The framework of this standard will be launched at the security fair in Essen, Germany, in October 2008. All interested companies and groups can participate in the work. The forum will open in the fourth quarter of this year and will work on the development of the standard and a consensus on how to implement the new technology.
