Mexico. At the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM), the Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District installed on February 15 45 surveillance cameras, which monitor the place, read the license plates of the vehicles and detect those that have a report of theft.
These cameras monitor 39 accesses that the terminal area has (13 of them vehicular and 26 pedestrian), and the others were placed outside the place. The head of the preventive police said that it seeks to coordinate with the federal authorities to provide security to the AICM and have access to the images of the 250 cameras that are inside the airport.
The 45 video surveillance cameras complement the entry into operations of the Citizen Protection Unit of the airport, which in turn has the support of the elements of the Auxiliary Police that are inside the air terminal, to attend emergencies in its accesses and surrounding areas.
