Latin America. Axis Communications announced the launch of a video surveillance solution that maintains a 360° view over a large area, while also zooming in on specific objects.
The result of two years of research and development is the new AXIS Q6000-E camera, which allows operators to monitor an area of 20,000m2 (equivalent to 2.5 football fields) through four components of 2 megapixels each, and at the same time use optical zoom to record details with just one click. In practice, simply click anywhere in the overall image to activate AXIS Q60-E coupled to this solution and immediately display the enlarged object.
It is also possible to program the camera to automatically zoom in on a specific area when there is an event of interest, such as the entry of people or vehicles, without losing the vision of everything. In the control room, two monitors can be used to display the overall image, and in another, give optimal zoom in the video, fully synchronized.
These resources make the camera ideal for surveillance applications in cities, such as monitoring public places, as well as parking lots and shopping malls. The launch opens up other new opportunities to solve common problems at those facilities, where it is necessary to identify details accurately while still seeing the environment.
"This launch brings new monitoring possibilities to existing projects, to monitor wide areas and simultaneously capture details with a click," says Sergio Fukushima, technical manager of Axis.
