Mexico. State authorities reported that they strengthened their video surveillance networks with the implementation of new cameras, highway arches and servers for data storage.
In addition, the State Center for Command, Communications, Computing, Control, Coordination and Intelligence (C5I) was transformed into the Center for Security, Intelligence and Technology (SITEC).
The initiative included the modernization of the monitoring center and the crisis management room, as well as the expansion of the video surveillance system from 320 devices to 1,080 (including 72 multi-sensor). In this way, the increase in the installed capacity of cameras amounts to 72%.
The Ministry of Public Security of Michoacán reported that, at the same time, the renovation of 11 regional centers of SITEC was carried out, as well as the opening of two new ones in the municipalities of Zacapu and Maravatío.
