Björkdahl also mentioned ONVIF's progress on a cross-system approach to interoperability between various management systems, a task that is done in conjunction with the continuous development of additional profiles to adjust to industry changes.
Björkdahl also recognized the important contributions of three people to various ONVIF technical committees. Arsenio Vilallonga, vice president of Networked Systems, FLIR Systems, Inc., and Nicholas Brochu of Genetec, one of the most active participants in the development of profile T, received the 2017 ONVIF award, which recognizes individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to ONVIF. Sriram Prasad Bhetanabottla of Canon Inc. was recognized with the 2017 ONVIF Distinguished Service Award for his role as a core and active member contributing to the device testing activities of the Technical Services Working Group and the Profile T.
"Arsenio, Nicholas and Sriram have contributed significantly to the development of Profile T, our latest candidate version for advanced video streaming, as well as to ONVIF's ongoing work," said Björkdahl. "As a member-driven organization, it is important to recognize members who dedicate several hours of service to the work of ONVIF and contribute to fulfilling our mission. Thank you for your service and congratulations."
