Latin America. HID Global®, a world leader in reliable identification solutions, will exhibit at CLAB 2017 its latest advances in bank protection technology to reduce the possibility of data spoofing or cloning, all to generate a safer environment for financial institutions and their users.
The event, scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 1, is organized by the Florida International Bankers Association (FIBA) and the Latin American Federation of Banks (FELABAN).
Attendees at the seventeenth edition of this meeting specialized in technology and financial innovation will be able to learn about the practicality of HID Global's solutions, which stand out for combining the factors of security and convenience.
"This event represents an ideal platform to raise awareness of the importance of identity security in the banking sector. With so much connectivity today it is a great challenge to prevent data from being intercepted or cloned, given that any failure in the system would not only represent a negative impact on the financial, but also on the credibility and vulnerability of the brand or the institution, "explains Sergio Mazzoni, sales director of hid Global's Extended Access Technology division for Latin America.
In recent years the banking sector has sought alternatives that allow it to expand its services in mobility and convenience, that is, that the client can do their activities at any time and anywhere, and of course safely.
"In that sense we hope to show the practicality of HID Global solutions and the components of a complete, expandable authentication platform that covers all needs," Mazzoni noted.
On the other hand, Jorge Domínguez, sales director of HID Biometrics – Lumidigm® for Mexico and Central America, assures that in Latin America identity theft and impersonation is a problem that increases year after year
"It is important that financial institutions make sure that the person with whom they have contact is who they say they are and our technology helps the user to verify it, avoiding the use of false fingerprints made with materials as diverse as rubber, grenetin, silicone, gel or prosthetic fingers; the hacking of customer/bank communications is another problem that is on the rise in the financial sector. Our technology, by using encryption algorithms, both on the device and in communication with the server, prevents the interception of information and the consequent misuse of it.
At CLAB 2017 you will be able to learn the details of the HID Approve application, which has the ability to turn a mobile device into a portable validation device or an "authenticator" that controls online access and transaction requests, such as digital banking transactions or access to a corporate RPV (virtual private network).
This innovation combines public key cryptography with passive reception (push) technology to create a new experience for banking and marketer customers.
Hid Global will also exhibit biometric authentication equipment such as the V-302, M-321 fingerprint sensors and the new V-400 encrypted series.
Lumidigm® M-Series fingerprint sensors provide multispectral imaging technology to businesses looking for the price/performance ratio, durability and performance in a compact USB device. The M series captures fingerprint information by detecting fraudulent verification attempts and offering very accurate fingerprint verification.
Lumidigm's® V Series offers high readability, excellent biometric interoperability and best-in-class living fingerprint detection; is a robust device, with a very low operating cost and high performance in a wide variety of fingerprint authentication applications.
Lumidigm Encrypted M and V Series
Lumidigm's M and V encrypted series combine world-renowned Lumidigm multispectral biometric performance with data encryption, device breach detection and prevention, and key management for user authentication. Designed to simplify transactions for users and eliminate fraud for financial institutions, the V Series and M 400 provide convenient and reliable biometric authentications in solutions that require secure end-to-end transactions.
Finally, within the framework of the meeting, it will also be possible to know the SAFE For Finance solution, offered by Quantum Secure, part of HID Global, an identity and physical access software adapted to the standards, processes and specific challenges of financial institutions. With this tool, financial institutions can reduce the time, effort, and operational costs associated with identity management.
