International. Milestone Systems has just released device pack 8.4 for the benefit of partners and customers using Milestone's XProtect video solutions. Bi-monthly versions of device packs contain software updates to support new equipment.
Such updates are always a fundamental interest for Milestone. With this device pack Milestone reached the impressive number of 5,000 cameras with support and currently supports a total of 5,171 devices.
Bosch's AVIOTEC camera was recognized as the 5milth device at Milestone's annual partner conference, which took place in February. The camera employs analytical algorithms that identify smoke and flames. Built-in technology allows for faster detection of fires. It is also possible to incorporate visual tools in the detection of conflagrations, which obtains a more complete information about the environment, compared to conventional smoke or fire detectors.
Greater flexibility for customers with connected NVRs
This device pack allows you to connect Dahua network video recorders with XProtect®. This means that Milestone's VMS software will be able to access cameras connected to NVRs, in the same way as cameras connected to an encoder. Customers using NVRs supported by Milestone now have the option of centralized control, in addition to the ability to make local recordings on recorders. The VMS considers cameras connected to the NVR as ONVIF devices.
The ability to network NVRs will help customers using Dahua's supported NVRs improve efficiency. This improvement is due to the fact that you have more information about the environment. In this case, merchants can avoid losses by receiving behavioral alerts that usually indicate incidents of theft. Because NVR camera streams are recorded using XProtect®, the material can be used for video analysis. This opens up new possibilities to optimize the business.
ONVIF support demonstrates Milestone's commitment to standards
Milestone has always promoted standards for controllers such as ONVIF and remains committed to supporting the widest range of cameras and devices on the market. Almost 50% of the cameras that were incorporated into this device pack are compatible with ONVIF.
Milestone works closely with device manufacturers that are part of the Camera Partner Program (CaPP) to achieve optimal interaction between their devices and the XProtect® VMS. Before devices compatible with the ONVIF standard are included in the list of equipment supported at the milestonesys site .com, they were previously tested to ensure full functionality with XProtect's® open platform technology.
Milestone is committed to achieving shorter product development cycles that make it easier for the partner community to respond to changing market demands.
