Colombia. Axis Communications is part of the Road Safety Program promoted since 2001 by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Defense and the National Institute of Roads – INVIAS, in order to provide security and tranquility to Colombians on the roads in the national territory.
Since 2008, the Road Safety Program has Axis IP video surveillance cameras, which currently cover more than 1000 kilometers from Bogotá to roads such as Girardot, Villavicencio, Autopista Norte, Honda, Buenaventura and La Mesa.
Security to travelers is offered thanks to a set of technology such as speed cameras, information panels, radios, communications equipment, density meters, breathalyzers, video from vehicles, license plate reading, tracking of patrols and satellite communications, radio, datacenter among others.
The integrator company responsible for the implementation of high definition IP equipment is SIMS Technologies S.A.S., which was chosen thanks to the experience in ITS solutions and its position as a supplier with the most experience nationwide in this type of solutions.
SIMS Technologies S.A.S. Based on the needs of the project in terms of road control and surveillance, they recommended and installed Axis cameras, within which are full HD domes AXIS Q6035 – E that achieve optimal video quality and performance, designed for the most demanding applications, prepared for outdoors offering coverage in format for large areas. Some features of these equipment is its PTZ application, 1080p, comply with the SMPTE 274M standard with resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels, support 50/60 images per second in HDTV and day and night vision.
In this way, the National Government has developed its objective of providing security to Colombians, supporting the improvement of safety conditions that allow free transit (of users of the National Road Network), generating safety conditions that improve traffic on the national road network.
