Latin America. Axis Comunications announced the progress that the company had in the region in 2011, supported by the growth of the general IP video surveillance market.
Alessandra Faria, regional director of South America of Axis Communications, said that "the business continues to grow in Latin America at rates above 45% per year, the most prominent markets in the region are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru, in different segments, highlighting government, Infrastructure in general, transport, retail, hospitals and education".
During 2011 this company launched more than 25 new products to the market, with a focus on HD and Intelligence facilities in the cameras; In addition , the first products based on the arptec 4 platform have already appeared. Axis has also grown in resources, adding eight new positions in South America.
On the other hand, the partner page has been modified generating more tools for the channels, even at the authorized level and thus being able to materialize the new technologies in great business opportunities. Juan Pablo Tavil, Regional Sales Manager for South America of Axis points out that to continue growing he would like "channels that today do not work or work little with IP solutions to see the opportunity to work in this segment".
For 2012 the IP Video market will continue to grow at average rates of 35%. The countries of the emerging regions, of which South America is part, will continue to be a priority for investment by the parent company in Sweden. The market will increase at different rates depending on the country, but with an average of 32% to 35%.
