Colombia. In order to strengthen surveillance, the Mayor's Office of Medellín and the Company for Urban Security (ESU) will create an Integrated Emergency and Metropolitan Security System in the city.
The project, which is expected to come online next October, includes three security rings, expansion of the capacity of the 123 and the installation of high-specification "anti-vandal" security cameras in some critical sites of the city.
Currently, the Ministry of Government is preparing a legislative act so that both shopping centers and parking lots link their cameras to the new platform, as will be done with those of the Metro transport system, those of the EPM and Plaza Mayor facilities. Thus, these places will be monitored from the same TV circuit.
In the same way, pilot monitoring centers will be created at some strategic points. In the sector where the football stadium of that city is located, security will be reinforced with 29 more cameras and eight metal detector arches.
