The digital system was selected for superior image quality, centralized storage and management, and integration with the district's active directory and on the Internet. Until now, the district was guarded by lounge monitors and security guards, who were to be physically present during school days and busy periods such as concerts and sporting events. Ray Mauritsson, President of Axis, commented that "many schools share the concern for the safety of children and for several years we have seen a growing interest in network video products in schools and universities. While schools have the infrastructure in place, a cost-effective installation of network cameras with superior image quality can be done with ease."
