The market analysis firm foresees a contraction of the retail segment, the largest consumer of these equipment, which, together with the lower growth in other commercial markets, will impact the analog and network video surveillance sectors. The figures were revised over the November 2008 projections, from 5% for the global analog market to 3%, and from 34% for the network market to 29%. This translates into more than $750 million of lower revenue in 2009 and 2010, and is a sharp contrast to the previous growth of the network camera market of more than 40%. A similar scenario was forecast for the video encoder and NVMS (network video manager software) markets.
